UKCosmo  @ Imperial College London

Tuesday, March 12 2013

Registration: There is no official registration process for the meeting. Please contact Carlo Contaldi for any questions relating to the local organisation.

If you will be attending the meeting in honour of Tom Kibble the next day please register separately for that as numbers will be limited. You will also have to register separately for Steven Weinberg’s evening lecture.

Travel Refunds (Tony Padilla): As a result of a further cut in STFC funding, we are going to have to be a little more draconian when it comes to expenses. Where possible we would encourage people to use their own travel money. Failing that, if you would like UK Cosmo to cover your expenses, please contact Tony Padilla before the event with an estimate of your intended claim and I will authorize it if there is enough money to do so. It is unlikely we will underspend, so unless you have had your claim pre-authorized, we won't be able to guarantee  reimbursement.

For inter-city trains please make sure you pre-book to get a reduced fare, and travel off-peak. As the main Kibble80 event is separate to UKCosmo we won't be offering any overnight accommodation expenses.

Location: Talks will be held in LT164 in the Skempton Building, Imperial College London, South Kensington Campus. Note that this is not the Huxley building where the theory group is located! The Skempton building is located on the other side of campus (see below for map). The closest tube station is South Kensington, Gloucester Road is also close by.

Arrival: Coffee will be offered between 10:00 and 11:00 in the foyer of the Sir Alexander Fleming building opposite the Skempton building (see below).

Schedule: Download a preliminary schedule here.
